We all know it — in one year for us, cats and dogs age 4-5 years. Our time with our pets seems to fly by! Routine exams help us keep up and personalize your pet’s changing needs.
We commonly help with:
- House soiling and elimination disorders
- Destructive or compulsive behaviors (chewing, scratching, digging, licking)
- Anxiety and fear (separation anxiety, noise and storm phobias, generalized anxiety)
- Aggression toward people or other animals
- Excessive barking, whining, or other disruptive vocalizations
Our goal is to improve your pet’s welfare, reduce stress at home, and strengthen the bond you share through evidence-based, compassionate care.
We use a few different approaches to manage pain and discomfort in order to improve your pet’s quality of life. Our treatment options include medication, physical therapy, and lifestyle adjustments. We will work with you to determine the best course of action for your pet’s specific needs.
Surgery is a very effective option for treating a wide range of injuries and illnesses—and with advancements in veterinary medicine, it’s now safer than ever. At Veterinary Park Potomac, we use the latest surgical equipment and best practices with every cat or dog surgery. One great example is Vessel Sealer technology that we have in-house. Your pet’s safety is just as important to us as it is to you! We’ve said it before and we mean it : we treat our patients as if they were our own pets.
Our medicine services focus on diagnosing and managing complex or chronic conditions that affect your pet’s health. We use advanced testing and individualized treatment plans to provide answers and improve quality of life. Common conditions we address include:
- Kidney disease
- Cardiology concerns
- Oncology (cancer care)
- Cushing’s disease
- Addison’s disease

- Hypothyroidism
We know your pet is a precious member of your family. Preventing illness in them is just as important (if not more!) as treating it. At Veterinary Park Potomac, vaccinations play an important role in our wellness care for your pet. Cat and dog vaccinations can prevent dangerous and even deadly diseases from affecting your beloved best friend. In order to give your pet the best protection, we devise personalized vaccine schedules for each and every pet.

Planning a trip with your pet? There’s a lot of preparation to be made for your pet’s travel—and that goes beyond getting them an airline-approved crate! Most destinations have very specific requirements before they allow an animal in. Without a proper health certificate, your pet could be denied entry and/or quarantined upon your arrival. At Veterinary Park Potomac, we can help you get the cat and/or dog travel health certificate you need to reach your travel destination hassle-free. Our doctors are USDA accredited and licensed for both Domestic and International Health Certificates.
